Hi! Congratulations on winning Second Place in AmiGameJam, I've sent you a message on EAB about your prize. Thanks so much for entering the jam!

Hi AmigaCammy! Many thanks for organizing the even and the prize! Great to see that you continue with AmiGameJams - please, continue as I believe that is a great fun and benefit (with more titles being released) to Amiga Community. I have sent reply on EAB. Cheers! :) :D

A truly ultimate minesweeper, lots to play. I've also included it in my new video along with other recently released games. Hope you enjoy it.

Great video! You really got a grasp on the game! :)

Thanks :) what about an ECS version?

I should be able to release the ECS version in a week. Cheers!

And now it has just arrive :)

Well, we get blown up a lot !

Very nice video! Please, note that different modes, have different rules, as described on the site and in the readme. Checkers game mode has for example bombs that are counted as 2 behind dark tiles and 1 behind light tiles. I am working still on Game Guide that will describe the modes more in details. Cheers!

Now Available on AmigaLive!

You want to enjoy this masterpiece of a game, but face any of the following challenges:

  • ❌ Don’t own real Amiga hardware

  • 😕 Find emulators difficult to configure

  • 🎮 Want to play versus mode through Netplay

  • 📺 Would love to stream your gameplay live

Good news! I’ve created a configuration of the game for AmigaLive  (front-end for FS-UAE)

How to Setup

  1. Download the package
    Purchase and download the file:
    MasterOfMinefields-AGA_vX.X.X.lha

  2. Install it in AmigaLive
Without extracting, place the .lha file under:
    AmigaLive\FS-UAE\Hard-Drives\

  3. Launch AmigaLive
Select the game "Master of Minefields (AGA)" from the multiplayer server game list

Great stuff! Cheers!

The best minesweeper game I have ever played, with lots of extra fun modes and a 2 player versus mode!!!

PS. Can you please allow to save the Versus options (so to have defaults loaded with mirror and 2 mouse devices) if its not much trouble?

PS2. Can you change Detonator mode to prioritize revealing the blocks with the question mark tag (than revealing them in random)  or to reveal blocks without a tag? (Currently does not reveal blocks every time a mine is detonated, are the tagged blocks cancelling this?)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, AmigaLive! Great to hear that you enjoy it that much :). I have followed your earlier suggestions especially with mirror option for Versus mode (random application of one of a few transformations to the mine setup of player 1 for mine setup for player 2) and deprioritization for revealing blocks for white flags in the Detonator mode. As for you next suggestions - let me see what I can do ;) :D. I have still 2 bits available in memory block for saves (to maintain compatibility with earlier versions of saves and keep 8 memory blocks on CD32). I would like to still proceed with release of ECS version in the first place.

Many thanks for your recommendations, as you can see the earlier ones found their place in the game and helped to make it better 😊.

Yes its perfect! Thanks for adding mouse support (also for 2p mouse) which makes it super enjoyable now!

`with mirror option for Versus mode`
This makes the battles quite equal! But often easy to match the opponent.. (maybe a random rotate + mirror would be best)

in the example here you can see its tough to easily copy opponents moves without spending time thinking about it..
Original            Rotated           Rotated + Mirrored

* . . *             . . . *           * . . .

. . * .             . * . .           . . * .

. * . .             . . * .           . * . .

. . . *             * . . *           * . . *

Another concept mode for 2p versus would be, have both same maps but not allow player 2 to perform the same exact move on the last revealed block by the other player (freeze the last clicked block on opposite player).. which would make them haste to do the easy move first...

`2 bits available in memory block for save`
So instead of saving the versus options, maybe make it match the main menu option for controller selection as the default loaded option?
or allow detection of mouse/joystick/CD32 pad for both players?
or maybe skip the NVram saving for CD32 on this option?
or tooltype and parameter to load executable with preconfigured controls?
or I could just debug and modify the binary (done it for other games)

`deprioritization for revealing blocks for white flags in the Detonator mode.`
Oh nice! So its white flags deprioritize..
I often see it doesn't reveal any blocks, is this supposed to reveal every time you detonate a mine or every 2? Can you perhaps explain the current logic of the block reveal?

OK, as per default use of Mouse  on 2-player Versus mode, I modified the binary and will be using it as a patch in AmigaLive through a loader. So you dont need to worry about this. (I will have to apply this for every future update)

Thanks AmigaLive! A for the "Mirror" option - it is only called like this but it does actually what you describe already :) :D. It randomly applies one of 7 matrix transformation on the mine setup from Player 1.

As for the Versus settings, actually 2 bits in the save memory block will be sufficient for me to store both controls setup as well as "Mirror" selection. Detecting mouse/joystick on Amiga may not be possible to what I have been reading so far. Nevertheless, all good as those 2 bits will be sufficient to store the "Versus" settings for controls and "mirror".

As per the logic for Detonator game - it randomly reveals one OR NONE of the tiles around the clicked one. The same applies to tiles in 1 tile distance from the clicked one. The prabablity that none of the tiles will be revealed increases with number of tiles already uncovered.

Thanks! That makes total sense now!
Please include this info when creating the full game guide  :-)

Awesome, instant buy! Is there a manual for the new special modes/campaigns? Not sure what "Checker" and the other modes are about

Much appreciated, MarcoSherer! All the game modes are briefly explained in the description for "Game modes" in this site as well as in the "Readme" files that are supplied with the game. I understand however that this may not be sufficient and I will try to prepare more comprehensive "Game guide".

Is this a custom boot block (NDOS disc) game?

No, it not NDOS disc game. It starts from Startup-Sequence on disk and overall it is AmigaOS friendly game. LHA package includes HDD installer.

What I wanted to hear. :D

Thanks. Will there be an ECS Version?

Yes, there will be also ECS version available soon.

Very nice :) I'm eagerly looking forward to it.

Could you send us some PNG screenshots for Lemon Amiga entry? preferrably to lemonamiga@predseda.com

Definately - I will send them for the entry. Cheers!

Awesome conversion of the Windows 3.11 Original with great improvements and enhancements.  The new game modes are very innovative, especially the 2-player mode. There are also great graphics and sound. Our German-language review can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 02:47:05. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂

Good minesweeper game. I also included it in my new video along with other recently released Amiga games. Good luck at Gamejam!

Nice game!

Nice to hear, Saberman and thanks for the video!
